Terroir

Ideally located north-west of Saint-Emilion, on the edge of the Pomerol appellation, the 29 hectares of Château La Dominique are distinguished by a remarkable terroir, whose excellent plots adjoin the region’s most famous vineyards– Cheval Blanc, Figeac, La Conseillante, L’Evangile.

A mosaic of soils

The 29 hectares of the Château La Dominique are located in the north-west of the Saint-Emilion appellation, on the edge of the AOC Pomerol, on a mosaic of soils: composed in the north of argilo-gravelly plateaux of Pomerol, blue clays, in the south of argilo-basementlimestone from Saint-Emilion.

A pedological variety that gives this vintage a distinctive and perfectly recognizable style. The property has its own massale selection plot and thus proceeds to a strengthening of the presence of cabernet franc, to gain even more in finesse and tension.

Generosity of the land

To the north of the property, we find the argilo-gravelly plateaux of Pomerol on which cabernet-sauvignon were planted. These warmer terroirs, thanks to the presence of bass, promote the good maturity of this later grape variety, while clay brings density and concentration to the wines. In the south, the clay-limestone basements typical of Saint-Emilion and the famous blue clays, give tension, finesse and minerality to the merlots and cabernet-franc that were planted there.

Our certifications : ISO 14001 et HVE 3

Two certifications are at the heart of our approach to environmental progress. We make ISO 14001 the basis of our collective certification. With an international scope, it specifies requirements that structure our operations around an ecological ambition. Our environmental management system also facilitates access to national HVE (High Environmental Value) certification. It is based on environmental performance monitoring indicators that can be used to obtain the HVE label.
